Intimacy Opens Your Heart to Beautiful Lovemaking

Often a subject that some may find difficult to talk about, yet secretly  desire to.

Discover how to awaken your senses and experience the passion within you  through the art of using essential oils and other delights for love-making.

Here, I will share recipes and essential oils, however keep in mind that our  own smell preference is vital. We each are individuals and may have some aromas  that we either love or simply cannot stand to smell for whatever reason and is  not always known. Be mindful of the essential oils you choose to use and make  sure that both you and your partner find the chosen scents pleasing.

The Senses

Smell plays such an important role in our everyday living and if we enjoy  what we are smelling it will assist in improving our health and wellbeing as  well as stimulate our senses. Smell can evoke pleasure, on all levels  emotionally, psychologically and physiologically. When choosing your essential  oils for love play take the time to smell them, take note of how you feel, what  you feel, are you smiling, do they do it for you?

Taste how sweet and satisfying it is when we eat our favourite food, this  alone can be a sensual experience. Some of my favourite sensual fruits are figs,  pomegranates, juicy mangoes, strawberries and lychees. Chocolate of course is  always associated to love. Spices like cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and chilli are  very exotic. Seafood especially caviar, crayfish and oysters can be incorporated  by having a sensual dining experience. The colour, texture, aroma, flavour and  look can all give a hint of sensuality. Even the way you eat. The simple act of  eating with your fingers can be very sensual. Experience tasting morsels of food  shared with your partner by feeding one another.

The power of touch, slow gentle caressing, massaging, using feather light  fingers or feathers themselves. On hot balmy days and nights gently massaging  with an ice cube can be a very sensual experience. There is something to be said  in having lush cushions, silky sheets and soft thick blankets to lie on.

Having beautiful things to look at such as a fire on a cold chilly eve,  fragrant candles burning to create a soft ambient light. On hot balmy days and  nights hanging curtains that are light and gently move in the breeze, essential  oils diffusing and having a bunch of beautiful flowers on display. Setting the  scene taking and into account the visual affect will have a positive impact.

Hearing music is a must, nothing like heavy metal where you feel like the  walls are shaking, well that could work for some people. There is so much  beautiful music available to choose from something soft and sensual or some can  be very romantic and even music that evokes a more passionate tone, we all have  our favourites.

Setting the Scene

Create a magical space for your sensory awakening. Above I have touched on  the senses, use some of the examples to help create your magical space. Let us  start with soft lighting using fragrant candles or t-lites in pretty glass jars  placed all around the room. Incense and essential oils can be burning as the  aromas gently disperse and enhance our feelings, music to help with relaxing and  getting into the spirit of the moment. The temperature of the room should be  warm and cosy. Fragrant fresh bed linen, soft comfy pillows and cushions, you  may have a fire going in winter or a beautiful breeze gently blowing through an  open window on hot balmy nights. Flowers or petals can be scattered, a bowl of  exotic fruits and vegetables prepared and ready to indulge with. Warm, spicy  mulled wine or champagne with Hibiscus flowers and syrup to sip on.

Be creative and allow Venus the Goddess of Love and Beauty to guide you

Conscious Breathing

Here is an exercise that you can do together. Sit opposite one another either  on the floor, lying down facing each other or sitting on a chair if that is more  comfortable, keeping your back straight. Place one hand on your partner’s heart  chakra. Breathing in and out at the same time, slowly and rhythmically count to  10 for each breath, 5 on the in breath and 5 on the out breath, do this for ten  minutes or more. This will connect you on all levels spiritually, emotionally  and physically. As you breathe together you will feel the flow and connect as  one. From here you may enjoy gently caressing each other, gently playing and  keeping the connection with your breathing.

Breakfast in Bed

Imagine waking up and your bed has been sprinkled with fragrant rose petals  or freshly picked jasmine flowers! What a beautiful fragrant and pleasurable  experience. A glass of champagne with guava juice and breakfast in bed, eating  sensual fruits and chocolate croissants.

Bathing

Water Play can be cheeky, sensual and exotic, a prelude to a sensual massage.  Share some juicy mangos, grapes and strawberries as you sip on champagne. Gently  wash each other. Explore each other and take your time.

Sensual Massage

Start by applying your essential oil blend (not too much) all over your  partner’s body as you apply your fragrant and sensual massage blend take your  time to feel the softness and smooth texture of your lovers skin, do this with  some pressure, however not to firm. Ask if the pressure is to light or to firm,  we all have our own preferences. Explore and enjoy your partner’s body.  Breathing is important, breathe and caress with intention and rhythm. Move with  the music as you caress allowing your imagination to flow. To finish massaging,  use a large soft feather, your finger tips, a soft fragrant flower, or a soft  fluffy mitten, gently, lightly moving from top to toe.

The Erotic Banquet

Sensual Fruit ~ Pomegranates, juicy mangoes and peaches, grapes, lychees,  figs drizzled with rosewater honey.

Sumptuous Finger Food ~ shredded crayfish, crab meat and fish, oysters and  caviar, asparagus, sliced salad greens dripping with your favourite  dressing.

Sweet Sensations ~ Belgian chocolate mousse with cream and fresh berries,  dark soft Belgian truffles coated in cinnamon sugar and cocoa, chocolate waffles  or pancakes, drizzled with fresh pouring cream and rosewater honey.

Scented Notes and Love Letters

Use beautiful parchment paper and handwrite with a fountain or calligraphy  pen, you can also add a drop or two of essential oil to the pen ink. Place a  drop of your lover’s favourite essential oil or perfume that you wear on your  love letters and for all of you beautiful sensual women leave a lipstick kiss as  your signature.

Sensual Fragrances Captured from Plants

Recipe for Belgian Chocolate Truffles

400g of finely chopped dark Belgian chocolate 180ml of fresh pouring  cream

Good quality cocoa powder, organic coconut sugar and cinnamon powder to dust,  you can even add a pinch on chilli powder! Or keep it simple and use cocoa  powder.

Shredded coconut is also a wonderful coating and gives added texture.

Place the chocolate and cream in a saucepan over low heat and stir until  completely melted and smooth. Line a bowl with non-stick baking powder and pour  this mixture in, place in the fridge and leave for around 3 hours or until set.  Using a teaspoon roll the truffle mix into balls and dust with the spiced cocoa  powder. Place on a beautiful plate with dried pink rose petal.

Oregano Oil and Its Powerful Antiviral Properties

The Greeks called it “joy of the mountain,” and the Italians called it a  natural “flavor enhancer,” which eventually became a signature ingredient in  Italian recipes. Oregano has been used by tribal healers for over 5,000 years.  Ancient medicine men believed oregano could cure fungi and bacteria as well as  eliminate pain and inflammation. The Greek goddess Aphrodite reputedly created  oregano as a symbol for happiness so bridal couples were crowned with garlands  of oregano, and plants were placed on tombs so the departed could find peace in  the next life.

Modern researchers have discovered numerous benefits when oregano oil  is used in food recipes because it has the ability to stop the growth of  microbes, which can cause several gastrointestinal issues. That ability has made  it one of nature’s finest preservative. The mineral and vitamin content of the  oil is impressive with iron, potassium, calcium, zinc, boron, magnesium, copper,  and manganese being the main minerals, and vitamins C, A, (beta carotene) and  niacin enhancing the mineral content.

It’s not just the minerals and vitamins that make oregano oil such an  important antiviral, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory substance, it’s the  oils within the oil that produce some amazing qualities. The carvacrol in  oregano oil is effective against salmonella, Escherichia coli, and listeria  monocytogenes. The thymol has antiseptic properties, and the terpenes in  essential oils are found in several plants and flowers, and those oils have  antibacterial properties.

The rosmarinic acid in the essential oil has antihistamine and antioxidant  properties, plus it can reduce free radical cell damage, which lowers the risk  of cancer and atherosclerosis. The naringin in oregano oil is a powerful  antioxidant. It can inhibit cancer cell growth, and the tocopherols like vitamin  E found in the oil are incredible antioxidants as well.

All of the chemical compounds in oregano oil help it produce amazing  aromatherapy results. This ancient oil helps the internal as well as the  external cells function normally. According to Heinerman’s Encyclopedia of  Fruits, Vegetables and Herbs, oregano oil can help reduce fevers,  bronchitis, cramps, childhood diseases like the mumps and measles, and it also  helps regulate irregular menstruation. One of the most important uses for  oregano oil is to prevent cell damage cause by free radicals, which are the  unstable oxygen molecules that steal electrons from other molecules.

The antiviral properties of the oil go hand-in-hand with free radical  control. Viruses attack damaged cells and take control and destroy them. The  essential oil helps the immune system destroy the viruses so the cells can  regenerate and begin to function normally.

Pure Essential Oils Surpass Traditional Natural Sleeping Remedies

Your average insomniac will tell you that while pills can knock you out,  rarely do you feel fresh as a result – only genuine sleep allows the body to  replenish fully. Premium essential oils offer more than typical natural sleeping  remedies and help sleeping by accessing the vital pre-sleep processes of mental  quiet and relaxation through optimum integration with healthy body function.

True beauty shines from holistic wellbeing and the replenishment and balance  that comes from regular sleep is essential for a healthy constitution on all  levels. In other words, we really need our beauty sleep. So, because  pharmaceutical sleeping remedies can inhibit the benefits of normal slumber, the  advantage of finding natural remedies for sleep has given rise to a whole range  of choices that draw upon the restorative properties of medicinal plants. But  though a herbal pill might seem appropriate and an infusion offers a certain  element of ritual and comfort that complements the relaxation process, the truth  is that absorption of a given plant’s properties by digestion is significantly  less effective than the direct route of scent. Olfaction is the scientific term:  any scent we detect at our nasal sensors is immediately transmitted to the brain  for assimilation. Thus we have the most direct route to our nervous system and  an array of instinctual responses that are triggered as a part of natural body  process.

Therapeutic essential oils represent an evolution in the associated craft of  aromatherapy that heralds great news for those seeking effective natural  sleeping remedies. Grown, harvested and processed at a unique level of organic  integrity, these are pure, medicinal-grade plant essences that are able to  achieve seamless integration with desired physiological responses. They contain  absolutely no impurities that would challenge the body’s healthy function and  are able to help sleeping by enhancing the body’s inbuilt capacity for healthy  shut eye. And because there is an enormous range of therapeutic properties to  work with, we can also call upon specific healing qualities to help address the  various physical and mental conditions that are prone to inhibit relaxation for  sleep.

What this means in practical terms is that, instead of the generally low  impact of the standard natural sleeping remedies, a professional blend of pure  essential oils with calming and sedative properties offers a potent alternative  that can be applied in a number of ways: in a therapeutic bath (which adds to  olfaction, absorption through warm open pores), in a therapeutic massage blend,  direct to your pillow, or diffused into the atmosphere with an Aromalight for  deep easy breathing.

And thinking laterally beyond the immediate topic of the insomnia remedy, we  can find a single essential oil that will work as a natural rescue response to  help in times of emotional conflict and nervous tension, supporting natural calm  and helping to sustain a wholesome balance conducive to regular healthy sleep  (on pulse points or even on the pillow to ward of bad dreams). Or equally  valuable, a completely pure, distilled water imbued with gentle healing  properties (created at essential oil extraction) that is perfect for tired,  stressed eyes that may well otherwise disrupt our sense of wellbeing and impede  relaxation.

Basically, anyone seriously seeking a natural remedy for insomnia needs to  discover the potent world of pure therapeutic essential oils. Because holistic  health and vitality can ultimately only happen in harmony with the organic  nature of body process.

Natural Herbs for Detox Can Change Your Life

There are a lot of chemicals, pesticides and other harmful factors in the  environment that would jeopardize one’s health. The foods that we eat is also  adding to toxin build up, which lowers our immunity. There is a tendency for  tissues and cells to have a toxic load as a result of high intake of processed  foods. There is a need on cleansing from these toxins. This is called  detoxification.

There is a need to find other ways to clear the body from these toxins as our  kidney and liver, though being considered as natural detoxifiers, will be unable  to do so if too much toxins are available. Long fasting or dialysis are some  methods of detoxifying the body. The defense mechanism of the body is the immune  system. Thus, one must take action to prevent infections and diseases to avoid  the whole body to become affected. The frequency of illness of one person will  be dependent on the strength of the immune system. There are products that will  help to strengthen the immune system such as detox herbs. These herbs will  minimize the development of illness and instead give support to the immune  system to maintain a good well-being. Make sure that after choosing the right  detox plan for yourself, you then choose the right detox herb products to use.  The following herbs are some commonly used herbs.

Psyllium seeds. This will improve bowel movement and maintain it in good  condition. especially when there is a problem with diarrhea. This herb also  remove toxins in the body and absorb it like a sponge.

Cascara Sagrada. This helps to flush out toxins from the system and is a  natural laxative. Your colon will be strengthened as well and can be used  together with psyllium seeds.

Milk thistle. This is used to stimulate protein synthesis in the liver.

Nettles. This helps the urinary system as well as other parts of the  body.

Burdock roots. This provides stronger cleansing since it aids to minimize  metal build up that causes harm to the immune system.

Dandelion roots. This will target cleansing to your liver and is beneficial  in removing wastes in the gall bladder. If used with other compatible herbs, it  will have an effective way to cleanse the kidneys as well.

If there have been constant exposure to polluted air and processed foods, one  must do detoxification. These herbs have a been known in history to help people  in the process of detoxification. Which is why, these are mostly used to treat  patients when it comes to detoxification.

Revitalise Yourself With Aromatherapy

Are you tired, working hard and all you want to do is go home and relax?

For some of us it isn’t always possible to go home from work and put our feet  up and chill out! Aromatherapy and the use of essential oils has the ability to  promote motivation, energy, strength, endurance and much more.

Here are some simple and effective ways in which to use aromatherapy for many  and varied conditions. You can use inhalations, room sprays, bathing and your  aromatherapy burner or diffuser.

When you get home take a mini break, this need only be 10-15 minutes. Choose  some essential oils to inhale or diffuse. Sit in a comfortable chair and take  some slow deep breaths. Breath in the essential oil aroma, feel your body  beginning to relax and let go. Feel the tension from the day slip away and out  of your body. Continue to breath slowly and stay with this for as long as you  feel the need to. By doing this exercise you will begin to feel in harmony with  your mind, body and soul and you will feel your energy returning. If you are  unable to sit for any length of time you can lay down to do this exercise.  Another way to experience relaxation with essential oils is to have a bath or  foot bath, use dry inhalations or use aromatherapy room and body sprays.

When using essential oils to assist with raising your energy, relax or uplift  your emotions one thing to take into account is to choose your favourite  essential oils. As soon as you smell an aroma that you love, you are immediately  transported to a place that no one can take away from you. Often pleasant and  past memories or experiences will be evoked. You will naturally start to release  tension and feel better.

I highly recommend you choose essential oils that resonate with you  personally as this will give you the desired results faster. Below I have made a  few suggestions from my own personal experience. Remember you can choose one  essential oil or make a blend from three. It is up to you, your nose knows best  and your body will tell you.

Bathing

Add 3 drops each Neroli, Rose and Jasmine or use them on their own.

Add 3 drops of Frankincense and Rose, 2 drops of Champa.

One of my all time favourite bath blends for relaxing is 2 drops of Vetiver  and 3 drops of Rosewood or Geranium.

Room spray – add the following recipes to 100 ml of filtered or floral  water.

I tend to use a lot of citrus essential oils in room sprays as they are  uplifting to the emotions, energising and evoke a strong sense of happiness!

Mandarin, Bergamot, Grapefruit 10 drops each, with 2-3 drops of Geranium.

Sweet Orange, Lemon, 10 drops each, with 5 drops Sandalwood and 2 drops Peru  Balsam.

Inhalations

Once again I personally love to use citrus essential oils, Lime, Grapefruit  and Cardamom or Lemon Myrtle, Sweet Orange and Bergamot.

The combinations are endless; have fun, play and be creative, I promise you  will fall in love with aromatherapy to improve your emotional, physical and  spiritual being.

Can Colon Cleanse Products Really Clean The Colon?

Many are starting to rely on colon cleanse products these days. Doctors  cannot help but emphasize the need to cleanse the colon on a regular basis, but  since many see colon-cleansing as a rather humiliating experience, experts have  come out with an alternative – colon cleansing products that promise to enable  you to cleanse your colon yourself and in the comfort of your own home.

The Objectives of Colon Cleansing

Regular cleansing of the colon is essential for the following reasons:

· It rids the colon of toxic substances that build up, thereby helping to  achieve optimum health.

· It relieves stomach discomforts such as bloating and flatulence.

· It promotes normal bowel movement, preventing constipation or diarrhea.

· It prevents colon cancer.

Colon- Cleansing at Home

Cleansing the colon at home? Well, why not? You don’t need expensive gadgets  to do it, actually. Colon cleansing, in fact, may come simply in the form of  fasting. Don’t take anything for a day or two, and you’ll witness your colon  improving. Needless to say, cleansing kits are now available in the market to  make it more convenient for you (not to mention less embarrassing) to perform  the procedure at home. Many colon cleanse products also come in the form of  supplements that you can simply down with a glass of water and then wait for  things to happen.

But how far these supplements go in ridding your colon of toxic materials  depends on your choice of product. You see not all products designed for to  cleanse the colon will give you the same experience every time. For one thing,  they are not made with the same blend and quality of ingredients.

Colon Cleanse Products: Ingredients To Look For

· Fiber. Fiber, such as Psyllium Husk, promotes good bowel movement,  thereby hastening the removal of wastes from the body. Fiber is very helpful to  people struggling with their bowel movements everyday. Additionally, regular  fiber consumption can help in maintaining a healthy weight, improving lipid  control, and preventing yeast infections.

· Cascara Sagrada. Cascara Sagrada is a popular herb that is used in  cleaning out the colon because of its laxative properties. It restores normal  bowel movements and tones and the intestinal muscles as well.

· Fennel. Fennel improves digestion and reduces your cravings,  especially for things that are not healthy to begin with. It cleanses the colon  by preventing more toxic buildup.

· Turmeric. Turmeric of the ginger family is an important component  of colon cleansers as it prevents abdominal pain and spasms that can occur with  a clogged colon.

· Magnesium Oxide. Magnesium oxide is an element that helps to  ensure sufficient hydration and a healthy intestinal tract.

· Walnut. Walnut has high levels of essential fatty acids. It also  has the ability to fight parasites along the intestinal walls.

· Hydrochloric Acid. This ingredient breaks down proteins and  hastens the elimination of wastes from the colon.

· Citric Acid. Citric Acid keeps the acidity in your urine which  helps you fight off fatigue, a common symptom of a clogged colon.

It may not be possible to find just one colon cleanser that has all these  ingredients, especially if you are going to look for one that is organically  made. Well, indeed, as much as possible, you must choose products that contain  only organic ingredients and no harmful chemicals. After all, isn’t your goal to  get rid of toxins? Synthetic colon cleansers have many toxic substances, so if  you don’t want to expose your colon to more danger than you already have, choose  a colon cleansing product that has organic or all-natural ingredients. I’m sure  there are lots of the kind you can find.

Regardless of what colon cleanse products you use, don’t eliminate the need  to improve your lifestyle as well as eating habits.

Stop your suffering from heartburn, acid reflux and irritable bowel  syndrome.

Grandmother Knows Best:

Age-Old Remedies Prove to still be Beneficial

Maybe all those old grandmothers knew a thing or two. A recent study by London’s Kingston University in conjunction with British beauty brand Neal’s Yard Remedies suggests that certain age-old home remedies could hold promise to treat a wide range of medical conditions, as well as possessing beauty care attributes that help keep skin firmer and less wrinkled.

Scientists at the University found that the old home remedies of white tea, witch hazel and simple rose extract possess a number of naturally occurring substances that may be developed into new treatments to block or suppress the progression of inflammation. Inflammation plays a major role in the initiation and development of many diseases, ranging from cancer, arthritis and diabetes, to neuro-degenerative disorders, cardiovascular and pulmonary issues, premature aging and early death.

“Inflammation is a secret killer — helping arrest its development, or being able to stop it happening at all, would clearly be of benefit,” said Professor Declan Naughton of the University’s School of Life Sciences. “Now the latest research we have carried out suggests a number of naturally-occurring substances may offer the hope of new treatments to block the progression of inflammation.”

In the new study, 21 plant extracts were tested for their efficacy in fighting cancer and suppressing the progression of inflammation. Three of the 21 plant extracts — white tea, witch hazel and rose — showed great potential, with white tea having the most promising results. The study team took the work further, and sought to replicate the results using human skin cells to look more closely at the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties of the three extracts.

Researchers added differing combinations and concentrations of the extracts to cultures of human dermal fibroblast cells (skin): white tea in a freeze-dried powder form, witch hazel as a crushed dried herb, and rose extract in a medicinal tincture form, to measure what effect the differing mixtures and concentrations had on suppressing oxidants and the rogue enzymes which play a key role in inflammation development and skin aging.

The results show the marked potential of the extracts, both for their anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Kingston University PhD student and co-author of the study, Tamsyn Thring, said, “We also know that when inflammation starts — be it a simple cut to a finger or in an arthritic joint — the body starts producing a compound called interleukin 8, which helps the process along. We began wondering if there was a way we could switch that signal off, thereby blocking the inflammation’s progress.”

The research team states that this study has opened the door to many others regarding the benefits natural extracts in healing. So far Mistletoe has been confirmed as a successful cancer fighter, but scientists would like to find other combinations to increase the life-expectancy of cancer/chronic ill patients.

So maybe those old grandmothers knew what today’s scientists are just starting to learn, that drinking a simple cup of white tea can relieve arthritis and help keep wrinkles at bay.

The 5 Kinds of Essential Oils

There are a number of essentials oil related to the practice of aromatherapy,  but some actually have a neutral scent. Let’s take a look at 5 of the best  essential oils, where they come from, their properties and healing benefits.

Aloe Vera Oil:

Aloe Vera is used in such a wide variety of applications and is medically  proven to be beneficial for a number of ailments. For most of us, Aloe Vera is  used as a hand cream or rubbing oil, but in Asia there is a strong culinary  culture around the Aloe plant too. Many people will grow one at home to make  desserts from, and Aloe pieces in Yoghurt is quite natural. Slowly these are  being introduced into the western world. Oil of Aloe Vera however is in fact the  juice of a blended Aloe stem mixed with soy oil, and is entirely neutral in  scent. Because Aloe is a natural product, the resulting juice also has an  expiration date, as does the oil made from it. Aloe is used to detoxify and  relax the skin, and is particular useful during the winter months when skin  tends to dry with the low humidity, as it helps to regulate the skins natural  water content.

Common Wormwood Oil:

Made from olive oil and the yellow flowers of common wormwood, this deep red  oil smells sweet and unique. It is known to stimulate the digestive system,  disinfect, and reinforce the immuno-defensive system of the body. However, in  large doses it will make skin sensitive to light.

Jojoba Oil:

….is not actually an oil at all. Obtained by cold pressing the fruit of the  plant, Jojoba oil is a liquid wax with no scent. Containing lots of vitamins and  minerals, it is anti-allergenic and great for the skin. It serves well as a  single base carrier oil for other scents / perfumes.

Macadamia Nut Oil:

Again, obtained by cold pressing the fruits, it has a nice nutty smell to it.  Filled with unsaturated fats, the body absorbs it easily, with regenerative  properties that give your skin a slight shine. You will literally glow.  Excellent for when skin ages somewhat to keep it looking young and healthy.

Sweet Almond Nut Oil:

A favourite for many generations, obtained by twice-pressing sweet almonds,  it has a very strong nut smell. Like Macadamia oil, it is full of easy to absorb  unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins – just what the skin needs and appropriate  for almost any skin type.

Use Peppermint Essential Oil to Improve Your Memory, Digestion, and Breath

I dare you to feel better.  Many of you know Benjamin Franklin as an inventor  and writer but did you remember that he developed community resources such as  hospitals, libraries, and the University of Pennsylvania to help people. While  attending the University of Pennsylvania, Violet volunteered at the Benjamin  Franklin Hospital as a Candy Striper, and wrote a research paper that invited  people to improve their health with peppermint essential oil. Dr Matthews  supervised her research project. You too can be inspired by her example and  enjoy the following ways using Peppermint Essential Oil can help you:

First, inhaling this oil can help you improve your memory and  concentration.

Second, using the extracted oil from the peppermint leaves can ease your  digestion.

Third, peppermint essential oil can help you with your sense of taste and  your breath.

When Candy Striper Violet delivered the mail to the patients at the Benjamin  Franklin Hospital she would tell them:  “My grandma’s memory has improved  because she inhales peppermint essential oil. She agreed to help me with my  research project and for the last three weeks she has inhaled peppermint  essential oil three times per day. I see that her concentration has improved.  Now, when I visit her, she can tell me what happened on the news that day.”  The  patients asked her and the doctor:  “Can we improve our memories too?”

Candy Striper Violet knows patient Fred’s tummy hurts. On her daily visits,  she gives him peppermint candy to eat after his meals. Fred tells his doctor:  “My tummy always feels better after I see Candy Striper Violet.”  The doctor  sits down and asks Fred questions confirming the findings for their research  project. The doctor tells Fred: “You can dare to feel better.” Fred says: “I  have.”

At the library late at night, Violet meets with her research partner Keith  and he tells her:  “I can’t taste my food.”  Violet reminds him to inhale  peppermint essential oil and puts a few drops in his water. Keith notices he can  taste again. She says:  ” Thank you. You also have better breath now.” She  offers him some peppermint candy to enjoy later.

After 6 months of research Violet and Keith ask Dr. Matthews to review their  research documentation on the benefits of peppermint essential oil. The doctor  tells Candy Striper Violet:  “Indeed, the patients feel better and they can eat  with ease. Now they can taste their food. They always remember you and your  peppermint candy. Their memories have improved. Let’s publish your research  findings on the benefits of using peppermint essential oil to ease digestion,  improve the sense of taste, and to improve memory and concentration.”

I guide clients and students trough self-discovery and coping with illness,  losses, and challenges. When directing meditation classes and energetic healing  sessions I use a gentle, supportive, and validating approach. I find that my  clients and students feel calm and comforted after their sessions and  classes.

Health and Wellness Thru Diet and Nutrition

Part One: A search for health and wellness through diet and nutrition to heal  prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone.

“May Your Life Be Interesting”. Wow, what an amazing statement. In some  cultures it a curse. I see it as a blessing.

Have you ever heard the statement, “Take care of your health it is  everything”? If you’re like me, it was heard, but not really. Oh sure, I have  been interested in, and even studied diet and nutrition for many years. I’ve  been vegetarian, vegan, and carnivore. I’ve been overweight most of my life  because of “not really”. I cared, but not enough.

In September of 2009, I went to the hospital emergency room because my doctor  wanted me to get some test I couldn’t afford. I went in on September 26, 2009  thinking, “I’ll just get the tests and be home tonight”. I got out two weeks  later with triple bypass open heart surgery.

Well, as you may have guessed, I was motivated to get healthy with my diet  and nutrition. And I was, for a while. Things went okay for about a year. I  began to feel more and more tired. Next, I began to have pain in the hip joints.  It got so severe, I couldn’t function. The only relief was to lie on my back in  the easy chair. I was trying all kinds of supplements to relieve the pain, to no  avail.

My doctor said to have some x-rays taken. I finally did. The reading  indicated possible Padgett’s Disease of the Bone. I began to have blood in the  urine. That was a little scary and I call my doctor, a homeopathic physician and  MD Dr. Tom Firor.

He sent me to a couple of specialists. The weekend after my first appointment  with the nephrologist I couldn’t urinate at all the whole weekend. That really  scared me!

I call my nephrologist and he got me an appointment with the Urologist. You  know; catheter insertion and the whole nine yards.

My nephrologist wasn’t happy with some of my blood tests (specifically PSA)  and decided to send me to a Hematologist. This doctor, Dr. Mark Collins, is also  an Oncologist. He wanted to know why I was sent to him. I told him what had been  going on and he immediately said, “I want to see your x-rays, wait here”.

When he came back he said, “You don’t have Padgett’s Disease of the Bone. You  have prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone and it’s in curable”.

Well, I don’t believe cancer is incurable. Thankfully Dr. Firor doesn’t  either. When I told him of the diagnosis he said he would do some research and  get back to me. He then sent me to Dr. Torok in Medina Ohio who is a former  orthopedic surgeon how specializing in curing cancer with homeopathy. And Dr.  Aukerman the head of the OSU Center for Integrative Medicine who specializes in  ab alternative health and wellness program focusing on helping my body cure  itself through Diet and Nutrition.

Four days after I started the homeopathic remedy I no longer need the  narcotic pain patch Dr. Collins had prescribed. However, I still needed the  Tramadol before I went to bed to get to sleep. I was so amazed; I called Dr.  Leonard Torok and asked if it could work that quickly. He said if you get the  right remedy it works very quickly. I said, “You really nailed it then”!

A few weeks after I started the homeopathy remedy I began Dr. Aukerman’s diet  and nutritional supplements he prescribed. Shortly after I started that program  I began to sleep better.

So far, I no longer need the pain medication and my blood tests have gone  from showing high inflammation to normal in the span of two months.

“May your Life be Interesting”. It is. It is also a Great Blessing! I’m  looking forward to see what unfolds.
